Liam is growing up and is in to every super-hero you can name. I don’t mind it, but the super-hero movies aren’t nearly as good of ’quality programming’ as my old stand-by’s “Fireman Sam” and “Thomas & Friends”. As I was watching the latest release, “Thomas & Friends: Blue Mountain Mystery” I couldn’t help but feel nostalgic. My son has learned so much about kindness, sharing, and being good to one another from our favorite blue train. I have had all kinds of conversations about why Gordon is bossy, Cranky is naughty and how Thomas saved the day. These movies and episodes (and trust me, we have them all) have been a great jumping off point to open up conversations about our actions and how they affect others. I was worried that since our house is quickly turning in to the Batcave, Liam might be ready to retire his ole’ pals. Thank goodness I was wrong.
When Blue Mountain Mystery arrived for me to review, Liam already knew about the new mysterious train that would be on the movie. He couldn’t wait for me to open it and pop it in. ”Can you cuddle with me on the couch and watch it?” he asked. Naturally I dropped everything I was planning on doing (after all, even rough and tough super-hero’s still need their momma). 
When trouble strikes at the Blue Mountain Quarry, Thomas is sent to help his Narrow Gauge engine friends. He catches a glimpse of a small engine trying to hide, yet no one will provide any clues to the engine’s identity. Thomas is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery but discovering the truth is harder than he imagined! Will Thomas be able to save his new friend? Or will the mysterious engine be sent away from Sodor forever? Join Thomas and his friends for their most mysterious adventure yet in a movie the whole family will love!
